Deaf Awareness
We give talks in schools and community groups and also provide deaf-awareness training for employers of Deaf people or employees who need to make their workplace more accessible to Deaf people - further information on these workshops can be obtained from CDA by using any of the contacts below.
All BSL courses are taught by qualified Deaf Tutors.
BSL Level One Course
Currently, there are two courses running. A new Level One course will start on Monday April 23rd 2012.
BSL Level Two Course
One course is in progress.
Courses run for one year and lead to the nationally recognised CACDP Level One or Level Two certificate. For more information on these courses, please contact the CDA office.
Computer Training
We have a volunteer (Brendan Casey) who provides Computer training sessions at CDA. They are on a one-to-one basis. Brendan is Deaf and can communicate using BSL, SSE, lip-reading etc. Please let me (Jamie) know on 077786 434700 or jamie@cambsdeaf.org, if you are interested in computer training and I will put you down on the list of names. I will do my very best to arrange a suitable time for your training sessions. The training can be anything, from basic to advanced; it can be long or short. The training will be based in the room next to the CDA office. I very much hope this new project will be very successful and our big thanks to Brendan for making this possible. Good luck Brendan.
Driving Theory Training
We are in the planning stages of organising training sessions for Deaf people. We will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
